Here are some important tips to help you land a spot.
Dress to impress but think more understated than overstated. Don’t wear anything that’s too tight or too revealing.

Make sure to not go in the overly dressy direction either, a nice casual outfit is good. A blouse with an appropriate neckline, jeans or simple skirt should do the trick. Don’t over accessorize, anything more than simple earrings is too much.

Makeup for Interviews
Do NOT cake on tons and tons of makeup. This is one of the most common mistake that girls who are just starting off in modeling make. The casting agents want to see you, not all your heavy make up.

Minimal and natural makeup is best. Don’t try to downplay certain aspects of your face that are unique because that’s exactly what modeling agencies are looking for. That extra uncommon factor that sets you apart from the other thousands of people that they see.

Be a Positive Model
Have a great attitude. Be friendly but assertive, don’t be crude or brash. If you notice all of the really successful professional models have really big personalities but they also have mastered the art of discretion. They know when to bring it out and when to draw it back in.

You Are Not – Well, Stupid!
Make sure you know the difference and act accordingly. Also, never ever, ever dumb yourself down. Contrary to popular belief many models are extremely intelligent and acting like you’re dumb won’t get you very far.

Overall Hawaii male and female modeling agencies, and all industry personnel in general, are looking for that special something, that spark. So go in there, be yourself, be confident, come prepared and have something interesting to contribute. Your looks will do the rest!
